Increasingly organizations need people – leaders and staff at all levels – who know how to do partnership and capacity strengthening well. Just as technical skills and expertise are critical for effective technical interventions (e.g. successful water and sanitation project require water experts), in order to engage in effective capacity strengthening of local institutions, NGOs need people with knowledge, skills and attitudes to work effectively in partnership and to design, implement and evaluate effective capacity strengthening work.
