Caritas Internationalis (CI) adopted a revised version of the Management Standards, which include a new Standard on Safeguarding. The CI Management Standards are recognized as the official permanent tool for Member Organizations’ assessment and organizational development. Caritas Internationalis commits to a credible, robust and verifiable process for integrity, protection and safeguarding at every level of the Confederation. This is part of the Caritas mission to protect and promote the dignity of every person and to do so through structures founded on good governance, accountability, and transparency.
All Member Organizations are required to conduct an assessment against the Management Standards after which an internal Caritas Internationalis certificate on the level of compliance with the standards will be issued. The Caritas Internationalis Organizational Review Tool is used to conduct the Member Organization self-assessment. The Tool is comprised of the CI MS, along with a risk management section and an improvement plan template. The updated Tool inclueds a Safeguarding Standard.
