The Caritas Internationalis Organizational Review Tool (CI ORT) is a self-assessment tool that consists of the CI Management Standards, along with a risk management section and an improvement plan template. The CI ORT was updated in 2020 to include a Safeguarding Standard.

The CI ORT also includes Scoring Guidelines that describe the possible scores that can be attributed to an organization according to its level of compliance with the stated good practices. When Caritas Member Organizations use the CI ORT, they should also complete the Accountability Framework that contains the list of the supporting documents that the organization provides as evidence to demonstrate their compliance with best practices.
