The Peacebuilding Fundamentals (“Peacebuilding 101”) online course is designed to help humanitarian and development professionals master basic competencies in the practice of reflective peacebuilding, including conflict dynamics, integrated and standalone responses, conflict sensitivity, Do No Harm and results measurement.  The course can be taken as an introductory primer or as a refresher.  Depending on one’s need, self-paced learners can spend as little as 30 minutes perusing various topics, or as much as 3 hours completing the interactive exercises, watching the videos and exploring links to valuable resources.  The learning objectives for CRS staff and partners include the following:

To gain familiarity with key peacebuilding concepts, principles, terms, approaches and resources including conflict sensitivity and Do No Harm;

To become aware of:

  • the stages and dynamics of violent conflict;
  • responses to violent conflict;
  • tracking and measuring results; and

To build capacity and willingness to integrate justice and peacebuilding into sectorial programs for more impactful and sustainable results.
